As a member of the HKGBC, AECGroup fully supports the launch of the first “HKGBC Retrofitting Guidebook” in Hong Kong. Mr. Dennis WU, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of AEC Group, led a team to attend the launch ceremony today (10 Jan). The Ceremony invited Ir Eric PANG Yiu-hung, JP, Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Services, The Government of the HKSAR as the Guest of Honour, to support and encourage the industry to implement retrofitting for better operation performance in energy efficiency for their existing building stocks. Representatives from the building industry including developers, property management companies, the government and representatives from various sectors also shared their successful experience in conducting retrofitting projects.
In the case sharing, a total of twelve Hongkong Land’s commercial buildings located in Central were awarded Final Platinum rating under BEAM Plus Existing Buildings V2.0, in which AEC was honoured to get involved as BEAM Pro to provide green building certification consultancy services for the entire property portfolio, contributing to the promotion of green buildings and retrofitting in Hong Kong's core business area.
Through the examples and content assembled in the guidebook, we are eager to see that the industry and the public will learn more about retrofitting and we can work together to build a sustainable and green future.
